Lisa Left Eye Lopes Denies Rumors OF TLC's Pending Demise (1999)

While the ladies of TLC continue to enjoy the quadruple platinum success of its new album, "Fanmail," as well as the recent Diamond certification (10 million in sales) of its 1994 record, "Crazysexycool," there apparently still are some rumors circulating that the trio plans to break-up.

Such talk may have originated out of earlier reports that Lisa Lopes is preparing a solo record (see "TLC's "Left Eye" Lopes Delays Solo Album, May Collaborate With Wyclef And Pras"), but according to Lopes, solo record or no solo record, TLC is not going anywhere - except maybe on tour.

"No, [there is] no truth to those rumors that TLC is going its separate ways," Lopes stated emphatically to the MTV Radio Network. "We're about to go on tour, [in] October we're going on a world tour and that's what we're getting ready for now." [RealAudio]

TLC hasn't made a decision on an opening act for its tour yet the members are discussing several possibilities, including Destiny's Child, K-Ci & Jo Jo, and Sporty Thievz.

Meanwhile, Left Eye's solo album should be completed next year and is currently titled "Fantasy.com," and the singer's newest wish list of collaborators includes Lil' Kim, Lenny Kravitz, and newcomers Blaque and Shonda.
